THE REFACING PROCESS
01
First we come to your home and check your existing cabinets. If they’re in good structural shape, and if you don’t plan to change the layout too much, then they’re good cabinets to reface.
02
If your cabinets are not good for refacing, our estimator will recommend several different brands of new cabinets and show you the different styles or offer custom built cabinets.
03
If you decide you’d like to go ahead and have your cabinets refaced, someone will come back to your home at a later date and measure all your cabinets, the cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and the countertop.
04
If your cabinets are good to reface, our estimator will show you the different door styles available and give you an estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions
“Is it cheaper to reface or replace cabinets?”
Yes it’s definitely cheaper to reface cabinets than replace them. When cabinets are replaced there’s the additional labor cost of removing the old cabinets, labor to install the new cabinets, the cost to dispose of the old cabinets, and then the actual cost of the new cabinets. Refacing is roughly about half the cost of new cabinets.
“What is the downside of cabinet refacing?”
As long as the cabinet boxes are in good shape structurally, there is no other downside to cabinet refacing.
“Are there any benefits to refacing besides cost?”
Yes, because when cabinets are refaced the doors are custom made to fit your existing cabinet boxes. If your cabinets are older they may not be standard sizes. This can make fitting new cabinets into old spaces very difficult, increasing the labor cost.
”Is it expensive to reface cabinets?”
It’s not cheap, but not as expensive as new cabinets. We use a formula to determine the cost quickly. It’s $200-$250 per door and $50-$60 per drawer depending on the style. This is the total cost including new doors of your choice, new drawer fronts, new slow close hinges, and covering the sides and fronts of the boxes or painting them.
“Can you reface old cabinets?”
Old cabinet can be refaced as long as the boxes are structurally sound.
“What type of cabinets can be refaced?”
Any cabinets can be refaced except metal. This is because of the problem of mounting the hinges to metal cabinets.
